Relax aboard your floating hotel as you discover the charms of the quaint riverside settlements that hug the banks of the Rhine and Moselle. Highlights include Andernach, a little gem that is home to the world’s highest cold water spouting geyser, Cochem, where snaking streets of wine taverns are tucked below imposing Reichsburg Castle and fun-filled Rudesheim with its historical treasures and lively music taverns.
Your Holiday Itinerary
Day One. Join the coach at your local pickup point, meet your host ,then sit back and relax as we journey south with rest stops along the way. Arriving in Newcastle, we board our overnight ferry to the continent enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day Two. We continue to Cologne to board the Princes Christina.
Day Three. We set sail for Andernach where you might like to visit the world´s biggest cold water geyser with its fountain soaring to over sixty metres.
Day Four. Today our ship glides us to Cochem. Perhaps hop aboard the little land train for a tour of the town or catch the local minibus up to the incomparable Reichsburg fortress where regular guided tours commence from the gift shop showing visitors amazing artefacts and furnished rooms.
Day Five. Our cruise continues to the fun filled resort of Rudesheim. Take a stroll up the buzzing Drosselgasse street with its music taverns, wander along the riverside promenade or venture into the Middle Ages Torture Museum to gulp at instruments of torture from throughout the centuries!
Day Six. We cruise back to Cologne where you can enjoy some free time before tucking into our farewell dinner.
Day Seven. We disembark after breakfast and head for our overnight ferry back to Newcastle enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day Eight. We continue home.
