5 Day Coach Holiday
Eastbourne is the sunniest place in Britain! Under its cerulean blue skies, Eastbourne features a Victorian seafront and is home to the manicured Carpet Gardens, award-winning beaches, a traditional 1930s bandstand and a historic Old Town. Walk along the promenade or hop aboard Dotto, the seafront mini train. Treat yourself to afternoon tea in refined splendour at the pleasure pier. Head to Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway Adventure Park for a stroll around the lake, a game of crazy golf or a locomotive trip through the picturesque grounds. Wander around the Sovereign Marina with its four linked harbours, stunning seascapes and Waterfront development with cafes and gift shops. View modern art at Towner Art Gallery or watch period-style cinema footage of Eastbourne’s past at the characterful Grade II listed Heritage Centre. Your Excursions
Rye & HastingsRye is an enchanting little village with nooks and crannies, set on a hillside, overlooking the River Rother and Romney Marsh. It is like a town suspended in time with picturesque ancient streets and meandering cobbled lanes. Perhaps visit the thirteenth century castle known as Ypres Tower where you’ll find a medieval garden and museum. Or head to the National Trust’s Lamb House, the onetime home of author Henry James. Don’t miss Mermaid Street with its oddly named half-timbered homes. Later we call at Hastings with its three-mile seafront stretching from the fishing fleet, past the hustle and bustle of the funfair and pleasure pier to the tranquil Grosvenor Gardens. Hastings is home to a well preserved Old Town and its keep and bailey castle takes you back to the 1066 battle.
Brighton
Brighton is a cosmopolitan coastal city with a shingle beach flanked by Regency townhouses while the pretty marina features luxury yachts and a stylish shopping boulevard. Don’t miss the legendary pier – a lovely place to sip a cuppa while taking in views of the English Channel. The resort’s landmark Royal Pavilion – the lavish seaside palace of George IV – looks like a mini Taj Mahal and houses fine furniture and works of art. Perhaps visit the fun and quirky Upside Down Houses on the seafront or get a bird’s eye view of the resort from the Extreme 360 tower.
