Explore Scotland’s treasures while staying in delightful Dornoch, a historic settlement nestling in a tranquil location on the Dornoch Firth. The town is home to sandy beaches, a thirteenth century cathedral and a championship golf course as well as nesting birds and a colony of seals. Dornoch is where the last witch in Scotland was burned at the stake and the landmark Witch’s Stone marks the spot. A varied itinerary takes in a tour of Glenmorangie Distillery and a cruise in search of dolphins. Holiday highlight is our day at fairytale Dunrobin Castle, a stately home perched high above the crashing waves of the North Sea.

Your Excursions

Dunrobin Castle
The most northerly of Scotland’s great houses, this beautiful castle dates from the early 1300s and resembles a French chateau with its towering conical spires. In more recent years it was used as a military hospital during the World War I and later became a boys’ boarding school. View the hunting trophies and explore the dining, music and drawing rooms. Outside, discover beautiful Victorian gardens and take in a falconry display.

Glenmorangie Distillery Tour
Promising a warm Highland welcome from the skilled craftsmen who ensure that Glenmorangie is made in the same unhurried way it always has been. An expert guide will reveal the stages of whisky production from mashing and fermenting through to distilling and maturation. Of course, no tour would be complete without tasting a dram of the award winning whisky.

Dolphin Spirit Cruise
We head to Inverness to board our cruiser then set sail in search of blue- nosed dolphins in the Moray Firth. This stretch of water is surrounded by places of historic interest such as Chanonry Point with its iconic lighthouse.
