The D-Day landings on June 6th, 1944 were the biggest and most intricate combined airborne and amphibious military operation in history. Follow in the footsteps of the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice, exploring the Normandy beaches in the company of an expert guide. Take in a cinematic experience that brings the military action to life, visit the restored Grand Bunker and the Airborne Museum, and discover the German trenches and bunkers of Maisy Battery.

Your Holiday Itinerary
Day One. We journey to our overnight ferry to the continent, where we enjoy dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.Day Two. We check into our hotel for our four night stay.
Day Three. We meet our expert guide for a day exploring the British and Canadian sectors of the Normandy beaches, immersing ourselves in the reality of the D-Day landings. Includes a visit to the Arromanches 360° Circular Cinema where the surround screen takes you into the heart of the battle. We also visit the museum at the Grand Bunker – the most daunting German coastal battery.
Day Four. We enjoy a morning in Caen to perhaps visit the Norman castle. Later, we head to the Caen Memorial Museum where 20th century history in Europe unfolds via an innovative 360-degree film.
Day Five. Today we explore the American section of the Normandy beaches, calling at the Airborne Museum, dedicated to U.S. paratroopers engaged in the 1944 invasion. We also visit the German trenches and WWII bunkers of Maisy Battery, which had lain buried for sixty years!
Day Six. Overnight ferry back to the UK, with dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day Seven. We continue home after our unforgettable tour.

Overnight Ferry to Continent
Your holiday moves up a gear when you board your overnight ferry for your sailing to the continent. Drop your overnight bag in your cabin then explore the ship or unwind with an aperitif in one of the bars.
On Board Dining
All GLENTON continental holidays include dinner and breakfast onboard. Head to buffet restaurant where your waiter will show you to your table and take your order if you wish to purchase any drinks. Then you’re free to help yourself from the wide selection of tasty dishes from around the world. At breakfast, choose from continental or a fully cooked menu. Alternatively if you fancy treating yourself, why not upgrade to the à la carte restaurant and enjoy fine dining with full waiter service?
Entertainment
Make your way to the show lounge and enjoy live entertainment throughout the evening – or take your place on the dance floor for a wee boogie! Perhaps you’d like to catch a blockbuster movie at the cinema or try your luck at the casino.
Cabins
Your GLENTON continental holiday includes an air conditioned inside en suite cabin with bunk beds. However, you can upgrade to a cabin with level beds and/or sea view for a small supplement. Please ask your holiday advisor when booking.
