On this exciting getaway we call in at the Daniel O’Donnell Visitor Centre where the singer’s life story is told through displays, videos and memorabilia. Afterwards, we return to our hotel through picturesque Glenveagh National Park. On another day we explore historic Donegal town including a visit to the fascinating Railway Heritage Centre. We also enjoy an outing to Donegal County Museum followed by an afternoon in leafy Letterkenny. Our base is the charming heritage town of Ardara which sits on the River Owentocker, has gorgeous sandy beaches and claims to be Ireland’s best town to live in.

Your Excursions

Daniel O’Donnell Visitor Centre & Glenveagh National Park
The Daniel O’Donnell Visitor Centre is the only permanent celebration of his incredible life. Here the entertainer’s story is told from his roots in a tiny coastal village all the way to the world stage. Attractions include his stage outfits, wife’s beautiful wedding dress, his many awards and Gold and Platinum Albums. We return via the untamed wilderness of Glenveagh National Park.

Donegal Town & Railway Heritage Centre
We head to Donegal Town where we visit the fascinating Railway Heritage Centre which tells the story of the narrow gauge railways. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to explore – perhaps enjoy a cruise on the waterbus.

Donegal County Museum & Letterkenny
We head to Letterkenny where we visit the Donegal County Museum, housed in a grand old stone building which was once part of Letterkenny Workhouse. This attraction exhibits artefacts detailing the history of the county. Afterwards, enjoy free time in Letterkenny.
