Choose Kingussie as your base for this tempting tour, located in the Cairngorms National Park. Kingussie is a lively town beside the River Spey where scenes from the drama Monarch of the Glen were filmed. Browse the craft shops or view the artwork at Iona Gallery. Sightseeing takes in an evocative trip on the Strathspey Steam Railway to popular Aviemore, and we also visit Culloden Battlefield & Visitor Centre, scene of the Jacobite uprising. We also spend time in the highland capital of Inverness, home to an attractive old town. An unforgettable treat will be our cruise on the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness, an experience that will be forever etched on your mind and a delightful way to experience Scotland’s mountains, lochs and glens.

Your Excursions
Strathspey Steam Railway & AviemoreStep back over seventy years with a nostalgic trip on the Strathspey Steam Railway as we journey almost ten miles through unspoilt Highland scenery to awesome Aviemore. With old fashioned carriages and great attention to detail, this experience really evokes the 1950s. Alighting in Aviemore, you’ll have free time to explore this tourist town in the Cairngorms National Park. Perhaps view the paintings at the Laundry Art Gallery.
Culloden Battlefield & Inverness
Discover how a gruesome battle that lasted just an hour changed life in the Highlands forever at the National Trust for Scotland’s Culloden Battlefield. This poignant interactive visitor centre is where you can experience the battle with its enveloping surround cinema, and view fascinating artefacts. We continue to Inverness for free time to perhaps visit the castle and cathedral.
Caledonian Canal & Loch Ness Cruise
An amazing day as we make our way to Dochgarroch to board our boat and set sail along the famous Caledonian Canal, gliding through the Great Glen, and into the legendary waters of Loch Ness. Regarded as one of the most wonderful waterways in the world, sit back and relax as you drift past striking mountains and enjoy panoramic views of Aldourie Castle, Bona Lighthouse and majestic Urquhart Castle.
