The enchanting Black Forest invokes images of ancient woodland, shimmering ponds and fairytale villages. Based in the resort town of Bad Herrenalb, sightseeing includes Triberg, home to Germany’s highest waterfall where the River Gutach thunders down, and the spa town of Baden-Baden which hugs the banks of the River Oos and is a hang-out for the rich and famous. Another highlight is our day taking in pretty Gengenbach, the fascinating Black Forest Open Air Museum, and a step back in time at old world Schiltach.

Your Holiday Itinerary

Day One. We journey to our overnight ferry to the continent enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.

Day Two. We make our way to the Parkhotel Luise and check in for four nights.

Day Three. Our sightseeing kicks at the Kinzig Valley where we call at the storybook town of Gengenbach. Later, we move on to the Black Forest Open Air Museum, an attraction that showcases 600 years of local history through typical homes. Later, we call at the preservation town of Schiltach.

Day Four. We travel along the scenic Schwarzwald Hochstrasse to Mummelsee, the highest lake in the Black Forest. Onwards to the spa town of Baden-Baden, home to the Faberge Museum, the Kurhaus casino and a funicular railway that climbs Mount Merkur.

Day Five. We head to the Eble Uhren-Park where we view the world’s largest cuckoo clock. The tourist town of Triberg is next, home to Germany’s highest waterfall and a museum showcasing traditional costumes, clocks and barrel organs.

Day Six. We check out and head to our ferry back to the UK with dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.

Day Seven. We make our way home.

Overnight Ferry to Continent

Your holiday moves up a gear when you board your overnight ferry for your sailing to the continent. Drop your overnight bag in your cabin then explore the ship or unwind with an aperitif in one of the bars.

All GLENTON continental holidays include dinner and breakfast onboard. Head to buffet restaurant where your waiter will show you to your table and take your order if you wish to purchase any drinks. Then you’re free to help yourself from the wide selection of tasty dishes from around the world. At breakfast, choose from continental or a fully cooked menu. Alternatively if you fancy treating yourself, why not upgrade to the à la carte restaurant and enjoy fine dining with full waiter service?


Make your way to the show lounge and enjoy live entertainment throughout the evening – or take your place on the dance floor for a wee boogie! Perhaps you’d like to catch a blockbuster movie at the cinema or try your luck at the casino.


Your GLENTON continental holiday includes an air conditioned inside en suite cabin with bunk beds. However, you can upgrade to a cabin with level beds and/or sea view for a small supplement. Please ask your holiday advisor when booking.
