Your Excursions

Christchurch & Salisbury
Located on the shores of its own natural harbour, traditional Christchurch is renowned for its eleventh century priory. Salisbury is a medieval masterpiece with a magnificent gothic cathedral that has towered over the city for almost eight centuries. One of England’s most handsome cities, its grid-like streets with black and white half timbered architecture are a joy to explore. Perhaps visit the National Trust’s Grade I listed Mompesson House with its period artefacts and hidden garden.
Weymouth & Dorchester
Weymouth boasts a World Heritage Jurassic Coastline, charming harbour and a grand Georgian seafront lined with al fresco cafés. Relax in one of Weymouth’s many parks and gardens or browse the independent boutiques in the town centre. Maybe head to Nothe Fort, built by the Victorians and now an award winning visitor attraction with underground passageways, ramparts and themed exhibits including a World War II evacuee experience, air raid shelters and a wartime shop. We move on to the picturesque market town of Dorchester - the inspiration for fictional “Casterbridge” in Thomas Hardy’s novel and home to a statue of the great author.
Beaulieu Estate
Set within the New Forest, this captivating estate offers a wide range of attractions. Discover over 280 vehicles at the National Motor Museum including Formula One cars and exhibits of pioneering motoring. Uncover the fascinating history of the gothic Victorian Palace House in the company of a costumed guide, explore the World of BBC’s Top Gear, wander the serene grounds and gardens, enjoy rides on the open top Veterans’ Bus and the Skytrain, explore the Secret Army Exhibition, walk in the footsteps of medieval monks at Beaulieu Abbey or view the masterpieces at the art gallery (seven day holidays only).
