Tuesday: We enjoy a scenic journey as we make our way to Glenfinnan where we make a stop at the Visitor Centre. Set amid superb Highland scenery, the monument is a tribute to the Jacobite clansmen. Following a short time here we continue to the bustling & thriving port of Mallaig. Here we have chance to explore before returning to the hotel.
Wednesday: A full day today as we head towards Dornie, making a short comfort stop en-route. We continue to Dornie and on to Eilean Donan Castle Visitor Centre. Eilean Donan is recognised as one of the most iconic images of Scotland and situated on an island where three great lochs meet. There are great views of the castle from the Visitor Centre (admission to the castle is not included as there are approx. 100 steps inside – for those wishing to visit the castle the cost is approx. £7.50 per person). Following this visit we make our way back to Fort Augustus, where we spend some free time before returning to the hotel.
Thursday: We enjoy a free morning in Fort William. This afternoon our coach takes us to Banavie in time to meet our boat for our 3 hour round-trip on the Caledonian Canal. Soak up the unique canal atmosphere, keep your eyes peeled for deer, otters & eagles as we navigate our way through working locks & gates. Marvel at the fascinating historical landmarks, pretty lochs & inlets and spectacular mountains. While on-board there will be an interesting commentary of foregone tales and pointing out castles & monuments. During our cruise we enjoy an included afternoon tea.Back to top
