A scenic excursion as we make our way to the attractive village of Dunkeld, dominated by its cathedral. Explore the specialist shops in Atholl Street, walk by the river and see brightly coloured ’little houses’, built in the 1700’s. After some free time here we continue to the Victorian town of Pitlochry, the largest town in Highland Perthshire. We spend some free time here before making our way back to the hotel.
We make our way into Edinburgh, packed with medieval tenements, narrow wynds of the Old Town and the sweeping elegance of the new town. During the afternoon we head for Port Edgar Marina in South Queensferry where we join our boat for a cruise on the Firth of Forth. Relax on-board as you take in the views of the Three Bridges, as you’ve never seen them before. View Blackness Castle, known as theship that never sails and spot marine wildlife as you sail along. During our cruise we enjoy a Cream Tea (includes scone, preserve and cream with a choice of tea or coffee). Following our cruise, we return to the hotel.
We enjoy a morning visit to The Black Watch Museum. Here you will find a unique collection that charts the rich story of this most famous Scottish Regiment, known for its courage, discipline, endurance, integrity, loyalty and respect for others. Following this visit the rest of the day is at leisure to explore Perth, Scotland’s ancient capital and known as ‘The Fair City’.
