Friday: Once you have joined our coach, we enjoy our journey, making suitable stops en-route to Perth, Scotland and on to our overnight hotel, Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow Westerwood ~ 4 Star (The hotel does have a Lift).
Saturday: Following breakfast we leave Perth and enjoy our journey to Thurso, Britain’s most northerly mainland town, and on to the Pentland Hotel, our base for the next 3 nights. We make suitable stops en-route as we marvel at spectacular Highland scenery.
Sunday: Following breakfast today we make our way to the Castle & Gardens of Mey for our included visit. Once the much-adored home of the Queen Mother, who saved it from ruin in 1952, with glorious views across the Pentland Firth towards Orkney, the castle is kept as it was when the Queen Mother was in residence. Following this visit our coach transports us to the famous landmark, John O’Groats, where we spend a short time before returning to Thurso, where the rest of the afternoon will be at leisure.
Monday: Today is the highlight of our tour. Our coach transports us to Scrabster in time for our early ferry to Stromness on Orkney. We enjoy a voyage of discovery through time itself as our guide joins us on the coach, for a tour of the magical Orkney Islands. We have chance to see the World Heritage Sites of Skara Brae, the Standing Stones of Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar, Skaill House, plus Scapa Flow, the Churchill Barriers, the Italian Chapel and the island’s capital, Kirkwall, with its magnificent Cathedral. We make our return to Stromness, later in the day, for our return to the mainland and back to our hotel.
Tuesday: Following breakfast this morning we leave The Pentland Hotel, Thurso and make our way, with suitable stops en-route, back to our overnight hotel the Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow Westerwood ~ 4 Star (The hotel does have a Lift).
Wednesday: Following breakfast today, we leave Scotland and commence our journey home, again making suitable stops en-route.
