History lovers can experience some of Durham’s amazing heritage on this tour as we visit Beamish – the Living Museum of the North and The Bowes Museum with its outstanding collection of European fine and decorative art. There will also be a day at leisure to explore the beautiful City of Durham.

We travel to nearby Beamish – the Living Museum of the North. See the Colliery & Pit Village, Pockerley Old Hall, 1940’s Farm, Railway Station and Town, all of which represent life in North East England during the 1820’s, 1900’s and 1940’s.
* We make our way to the Bowes Museum, a French Chateaux in the vibrant market town of Barnard Castle. Here you will find an outstanding collection of European fine and decorative art. Following this visit we head to the city of Durham where we spend the rest of the day.
* We travel north to the historic market town of Alnwick for some free time to explore. We make our return to the hotel via the Northumberland coast making a stop in Whitley Bay.Back to top
