We enjoy our journey to the seaside town of New Quay, clinging to the sides of the hills rising above the blue waters of Cardigan Bay. We arrive in time to meet our boat at New Quay’s pier for our 1-hour cruise. Sailing south to Cwmtudu, see local fauna including bird colonies, the local ruins of an iron age settlement, plus there is a chance to see some bottle nosed dolphins. Following our cruise, we enjoy some free time to explore New Quay before making our way to scenic Cenarth, a charming little community straddling the River Teifi.
We leave the hotel and make our way to Picton Castle & Gardens for our included visit. Picton is one of Pembrokeshire’s finest stately homes surrounded by 40 acres of RHS Partner Gardens. We enjoy a 50-minute guided tour through the elegant rooms featuring magnificent fireplace and fine works of art, including the controversial ‘Picton Renoir’. There will be free time to explore the delightful gardens. A light lunch of soup & sandwiches is included at Picton Castle. Following this visit we enjoy some free time in Haverfordwest before returning to the hotel.
We enjoy the best of the Cardigan coast & countryside with a visit to the seaside village of Aberystwyth. Victorian through and through, Aberystwyth’s quaint tea shops lining the promenade are delightfully contrasted by an Edwardian 13th century castle, highlighting the very Welsh essence of the area. Following our free time here we make our way back to the hotel making a short stop in Cardigan.Back to top
