Tuesday: This morning we head to the nearby city of Brechin, with its ancient Cathedral and 11th century tower. Brechin Museum depicts the city’s 2000-year history. Following some time here, we continue to the seaside resort of Arbroath, home to the famous “Smokies” and Arbroath Abbey, where in 1320 the Declaration of Arbroath was signed.
Wednesday: Our excursion today takes us to the “Granite” city, Aberdeen, Scotland’s third city boasting beautiful architecture and cultural gems. Time free to explore the city, before visiting the 5* Gordon Highlanders Museum, telling the extraordinary 200-year-old story of the “Finest Regiment in the World”. We return to Montrose along the scenic coastal road, passing medieval Dunnotar Castle.
Thursday: This morning we enjoy a visit to the finest castle in Scotland, winner of the best attractions award- Glamis Castle & Gardens. Enjoy the history, myths & legends dating back to 1372. Admire the castle’s stunning architecture and enjoy the surrounding beauty of the grounds and gardens. We visit Dundee the “City of Discovery” with entry to the hugely acclaimed Victoria and Albert Museum.
Park Hotel, Montrose ~ 3 Star
The Park Hotel is located near the centre of this lovely seaside town and is within an easy walk to the beach. All the comfortable en-suite bedrooms are equipped with TV, trouser press, direct dial telephone, free WiFi and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel offers a restaurant, bar, ballroom and garden lounge. Sorry No Lift, however, some ground floor bedrooms may be available.
