Ultimate Christmas Market Experience
Cruise and Maritime
The 46,052grt Bahamian flagged Magellan with her gleaming profile, beautiful wood type decks and distinctive CMV livery is an impressive ship. She will accommodate about 1250 guests within a warm and friendly atmosphere that reflects a truly British cruise experience. Magellan is fully stabilised and air conditioned and has nine passenger decks serviced by eight lifts.
Our maitre'd and his attentive waiting staff will welcome you to the elegant Waldorf or Kensington Restaurants where you can opt for a full English breakfast, savour a leisurely five-course lunch and enjoy a delightful dinner every day of your cruise. Whilst breakfasts and lunches are generally served in the restaurant on an open seating basis, two fixed time sittings are operated for dinner in the evening. As a casual alternative, the light and airy Raffles Bistro is open every day for buffet style breakfast, lunches and dinner. Here informality is the key and you can feel free to drop in without any ceremony. The Pool Deck lends itself particularly well to al fresco meals so a buffet breakfast or lunch from the Bistro can be served up with a complimentary ocean view!
Why not settle down and enjoy wonderful panoramic ocean views from the comfortable lounge areas along the mall on the Magellan Deck, or relax in a secluded corner of the delightful Hamptons Lounge Bar where the head barman will soon get to know your favourite drink. At the very heart of Magellan is the stylish Captain's Club, a popular place to meet fellow passengers. To start your evening you might opt for a pre-dinner drink here and enjoy a few of your favourite melodies. After dinner the show team would enjoy the pleasure of your company in the two-tier, Magellan theatre-style Show Lounge as our talented show team display their talents in a glittering 'big-show'. Enjoy more evening entertainment in Sinatra's, the Captain's Club and Hampton's or enjoy a drink in the Taverner's Pub.
The beautifully appointed Wellness Centre is nature's secret of well being on Magellan. It offers hairdressing & beauty treatments spanning across its state of the art treatment rooms, relaxation area, sauna and extensive menu of massage treatments. Why not indulge yourself with life's most perfect gifts: relaxation, invigoration and rejuvenation. Treat yourself to a spa package and design your own special day.
How about a few hands of cards in the Card Room? Or immerse yourself in a good book from the well-stocked Livingstone Library. Then, browse through the shopping gallaria and photo gallery for a few memories to take home of your time on board Magellan.

Get into the Christmas spirit
Cruise the River Seine to Rouen, 'city of a hundred spires', and walk in the footsteps of Joan of Arc. Discover the charming town of Honfleur with its picturesque old harbour surrounded by lofty houses. Explore the delightful Christmas Markets and wander through the stalls of seasonal gifts, hand-crafted decorations and tasty treats, soaking-up the wonderful Christmas atmosphere.
Rouen - Lying some 75 miles from the Seine estuary, Rouen is the historic capital of Normandy. Victor Hugo called Rouen 'the city of a hundred spires'. Its Old Town is a delightful maze of narrow, cobblestone streets lined with fine half-timbered houses and wonderful gothic churches including the magnificent Cathedrale Notre Dame and the Eglise St. Maclou. Rouen's Place du Vieux-Marche is famous as the site where Joan of arc was burned at the stake in 1431. Further upriver is the village of Giverny and the home of Claude Monet, who captured the beauty of Rouen in many of his paintings.
Honfleur - Over the years many renowned painters and writers have been attracted to pretty Honfleur, which with its narrow, half-timbered houses, cobblestone streets and charming old harbour set in a sheltered cove off the Seine's tidal estuary, is simply enchanting. Unlike many of its Normandy neighbours, Honfleur was spared during the bombing of World War Two and nestled in its tidy, picturesque streets historic buildings house art galleries, artists' studios, boutiques, restaurants, cafes and fine souvenir shops.
Winchester Christmas Market
About the Christmas Market
Our Christmas Market is inspired by traditional German Christmas markets and attracts close to half a million visitors each year. The pretty wooden chalets are situated in the Cathedral's historic Close surrounding an open-air real ice rink. All our exhibitors have been hand-picked for their interesting, high quality and unique products many of which can't be bought on the high street.
Many of our exhibitors will be attending for the full duration but some will only be here for the first half with new exhibitors filling the chalets for the second half.
Food and drink
There's plenty of choice when it comes to food and drink at the Christmas Market. You'll find chalets selling festive favourites such as, mulled wine, bratwurst, mince pies and stollen. Alternatively, our Cathedral Refectory and Ice Rink Café Bar & Kitchen provide a warm and comfortable setting with plenty of seating and great menus.
We invite many British craftspeople to take part in the Christmas Market. If you're looking for that special something make sure you visit the jewellers, painters, glass makers and textile artists selling unique gifts and decorations.
At the far end of the British Crafts Village you will find an enchanting nativity scene - providing an ideal opportunity to share the Christmas story amongst your party and take a fun photograph for Christmas.
