The New Year is always an exciting time for everyone as we say goodbye to the old and welcome in the new. Why not be part of the celebrations and join one of Edwards many exciting breaks. BASED ON 2017:Depart South Wales in the morning, travelling to Drymen, near Loch Lomond and the Winnock Hotel for afternoon tea on arrival. Join your fellow guests for a pre-dinner welcome drink before sitting down to your three course d'hote dinner and glass of wine, after dinner sing-along with our resident entertainers.
New Year's Eve - Following a full Scottish breakfast we make our way to the Scottish Capital 'Edinburgh'. From its frosted spires to its festive streets, Edinburgh transforms itself for six weeks of Christmas & New Year celebrations. Enjoy the outdoor ice rink or taste whisky flavoured fudge at the Highland markets. Explore the German markets that have Glühwein and Wursts of all shapes and sizes or just browse the many shops and attractions that this truly wonderful city has to offer. When we return to the hotel a pre-dinner drinks reception will be followed by a Gala dinner & dance with our resident Ceilidh band and disco.
New Years Day 'Happy New Year to you all' - A leisurely brunch will be served until 12pm today. This evening, enjoy pre-dinner drinks reception followed by a New Year's Day spectacular buffet. Later enjoy tonight's entertainment with "Jersey Boys and Guests".
After your full Scottish breakfast we make our way to Stirling, where you may wish to visit the Old Town and historic castle, overlooking the site of 'Braveheart' Sir William Wallace's greatest victory. Stirling's Old Town with its bustling city centre boasts the finest concentration of historic buildings in Scotland. Beautifully preserved medieval and Renaissance churches and mansions cluster around the Old Town, flanked by cobbled streets, period street furniture and Victorian styled iron work. A candle-lit dinner will be served tonight at 6:30pm followed by a Scottish evening with Ceilidh.
Fill up with a final Scottish Breakfast before we complete the journey home, arriving back in South Wales late afternoon.
