The River Shannon is the longest river in Ireland at 223 miles and divides the west of Ireland from the east and south, rising in northwestern County Cavan and flowing in a southerly direction to the Atlantic Ocean. The Lakelands is a well-loved Irish destination where you can experience stunning countryside, magnificent scenery, wildlife, unrivalled heritage, folklore and an abundance of quayside towns including the base for our tour, Killaloe.

Travel to Fishguard / Pembroke for the sailing to Rosslare. Continue to our overnight half board accommodation in the Wexford / Waterford area.
The day begins with a visit to Waterford Crystal for a factory tour. We continue to the heritage town of Lismore before completing the journey to Killaloe to be welcomed with tea, coffee and smoked salmon on brown bread. Later the Chef will perform a bread making demonstration, showing how to prepare the brown bread which is served in the hotel. To round off the evening we will have a historical talk on Brian Boru and Killaloe.
Today we visit the Rock of Cashel and the Glen of Aherlow. This evening we include an Irish night in the restaurant with a menu of Irish classics followed by live music and dancing.
We travel to the interesting Foynes Flying Boat Museum - the only aviation museum in Ireland and the only dedicated flying boat museum in the world. It is also the home of Irish coffee and you will enjoy an Irish coffee before departure. We then travel to Adare village, a designated Heritage Town and one of the prettiest and friendliest villages in Ireland. We finish the day in Limerick. This evening after dinner you can relax and enjoy more music and song in O’Hara’s Bar.
After a leisurely morning, we have included a cruise on the River Shannon. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure.
We depart Killaloe and travel to our half board overnight accommodation.
After an early breakfast we drive to Rosslare to board the ferry to Fishguard/ Pembroke and complete the journey home.
