Throughout history people have tended to live on or near great rivers. This is true of the River Thames and as it flows into the west of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead it matures and widens on its route to London.

We travel to Maidenhead for an afternoon tea river cruise. During the cruise we pass the glorious riverside houses of the many celebrities that live in this area.
Marlow and Henley. We visit the picturesque riverside town of Marlow. The town became a popular riverside resort and new houses reflected this in their Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian exteriors. The afternoon is spent in the historic market town of Henley on Thames, as beautiful and intimately connected as its name suggests with the River Thames, being sited on one of the most majestic stretches of the river with the beech clad hills of The Chilterns acting as a worthy backdrop.
Windsor. Offering everything from royal history to horse racing. Eton is next door, with its air of tradition, beauty and tranquillity. There is excellent shopping and dining, interesting walks and tours, boat trips, open top bus tours and historic gardens to enjoy during our visit.
We spend a few hours in Oxford before completing the journey home. Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, is famous the world over for its University and place in history. For over 800 years, it has been a home to royalty and scholars, and since the 9th century an established town. Nowadays, the city is a bustling cosmopolitan town.
