Looe - Poldark's Cornwall
Cornwall is famous for its seafaring history, spectacular sandy beaches, gorgeous gardens, dramatic coastline and captivating fishing harbours. The popular seaside town of Looe can keep visitors entertained all year round whilst still retaining its character as a bustling working fishing port. The harbour, steeped in history of smuggling and piracy, is a must visit, you can watch the boats come and go throughout the day and where you can watch the day's catch being auctioned on the quay. If it's shopping and dining that you want, the level streets offer an interesting mix of traditional souvenir, arts and crafts shops, boutique, bars and restaurants, many of which are located in buildings dating from the 16th and 17th centuries.
Our Poldark inspired holiday is a must for any enthusiast, whether you've read the novels by Winston Graham, watched the 1970's TV series or been drawn in by the latest BBC adaptation. Enjoy a guided tour of all of the TV show's famous sites including Truro, Botallack and Charlestown, where you can imagine that you've been transported to the 18th Century setting of this swashbuckling and seafaring drama.
