Morning at leisure. We then set off up the Inn Valley to Jenbach and join the Achenseebahn Cog Railway, which dates back to 1889, the train winds its way up the valley to the shores of Lake Achen, the largest Lake in the Tyrol. En-route back to the hotel we call at Rattenburg, the oldest and smallest town in the Tyrol. It’s famed for its Tyrolean glass and crystal and we visit one of the showrooms to see the glass artisans at work.
We take a tour to the magical city of Salzburg with a guided walking tour. Don’t miss the famed Getreidegasse, the narrow little street in which Mozart was born. Of course no visit to Salzburg would be complete without a stroll around the glorious Mirabel Gardens with their ornate and colourful fountains. There will be free time for shopping and sightseeing.
Today’s excursion takes us on the nostalgic Ziller Valley Steam Train from Fugen to Mayrhofen and enjoy some schnapps and music along the way.
After breakfast we visit the Pinzgauer Narrow Gauge Railway which winds its way along the picturesque Salzach Valley to the Hohe Tauern National Park home to the Krimml Waterfalls, which are breath-taking and the highest in Europe. This is a must for photographers and nature lovers.
