Travel to resort
Days 2 - 4
Lancaster - A half day excursion to Lancaster, a historic town with a daily market. St Georges Quay and its custom house on the River Lune is a reminder that Lancaster was once a busy port handling more tonnage than Liverpool. The afternoon at leisure in Morecambe.Lake District - We visit Lake Windermere, at over 10 miles long, England’s largest lake. You can take a steamer ride on the lake to enjoy the surrounding scenery. We continue to Grasmere where you can visit Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage.Yorkshire Dales - We visit the small market town of Kirkby Lonsdale before travelling to Skipton via Ingleton. Skipton is also a market town and its atmosphere is that of a farming community. Its factories and mills have done little to change this. We return via Settle, one of the most picturesque towns in Ribblesdale with its narrow streets and views of the 300ft Castleburg Crag which dominates the town.
