Today we take a local coach for a cruise around the lake and also a ride on the traditional jaunting cars of Killarney.
Today we have a full day guided tour of the beautiful Ring of Kerry. You’ll witness some of Ireland’s most spectacular coastal scenery. First we visit Killorglin, perched high above the banks of the River Laune and then to the fishing ports of Cahirciveen and Waterville.
Depart Killarney and make our way through Co. Limerick and into Co.Clare to Bunratty. We make a stop at the Bunratty Folk Park, an open air museum with a collection of recreated rural farmhouses, village shops and a 19th century village street where traditional lifestyles and crafts are demonstrated. We continue onto Galway, with time to explore this ‘City of Tribes’ before checking into the Menlo Park Hotel for an overnight stay.
We travel from Galway to Donegal, breaking our journey at Sligo, homeland of Irish poet W.B. Yeats. We continue our journey to Donegal for a 2 night stay at the Central Hotel.
We have arranged a waterbus cruise around Donegal Bay complete with an outward commentary and a lively fun filled return with live music from the crew.
We depart Donegal and travel across the border into Northern Ireland where we arrive at the mighty Giants Causeway, created by volcanic activity forming a mass of 40,000 stone columns that have created steps leading from the cliff foot and disappearing under the sea. (Entrance is included to the Giants Causeway Visitor Experience). We continue our journey to Belfast on what is described as one of the finest marine drives and the most dramatic and colourful stretch of coastline in Europe; The Antrim Coast Road for a 2 night stay at the Stormont Hotel Belfast.
Belfast is a handsome city reflecting the wealth it enjoyed during the Industrial Revolution. A guide will join the coach for a tour of the city sights including the Botanical Gardens, Queen’s University, and the Waterfront Hall. We finish our day at the Titanic Exhibition and the story of Titanic’s conception and early construction, launch, fit out and tragic maiden voyage.
We depart Belfast and travel to Dublin where we will enjoy a guided coach tour. There are many fascinating highlights to enjoy in the ‘Fair City’ of Dublin, including Trinity College (home to the Book of Kells), Christ Church Cathedral, Customs House, Phoenix Park and the Guinness Storehouse. This afternoon we travel to our overnight accommodation at the Maldron Hotel Wexford.
After an early breakfast we travel the short distance to Rosslare for the return morning ferry sailing to Pembroke where we complete the journey home.
