Plan My Trip

Day 1
We travel to Fishguard/Pembroke for the sailing to Rosslare. We complete the journey to our overnight half board accommodation in the Wexford/ Waterford area.

Day 2
We travel via Youghal to Blarney where we stop at the famous Blarney Woollen Mill before we continue to the Maritime Hotel in Bantry.

Day 3
Today we explore the Beara Peninsula starting with a stop in the traditional village of Glengarriff where we will take the ferry to Garnish Island which also cruises close to the local tame seal colony. Located in the sheltered harbour of Bantry Bay, the island is world renowned for it’s landscaped Italian style gardens laid out with beautiful walks and plants that are rare in this climate. Travel further along the peninsula before taking in the breath-taking views of the scenic Healy Pass. Next up is the village of Eyeries, a picturesque village with beautiful coloured houses that were the backdrop to a number of movies. Travelling over to the south of the peninsula, Castletownbere is a bustling fishing town where you can walk on the extensive wharf and view fishing boats and net mending. Return to hotel in time for dinner.

Day 4
Day at leisure in Bantry. Why not take the 10-minute walk to Bantry House and Gardens. An 18th Century house with impressive formal gardens. (Entry not included)

Day 5
Today we visit the spectacular Mizen Head. Entry is included to the all weather Maritime museum and Heritage Centre. The Signal Station built to save lives off the treacherous rocks of the west coast is open to the public and can be accessed by steps, pathway and an arched bridge. We return via the Skibbereen Heritage Centre housing the Great Famine Commemoration exhibition.

Day 6
We leave Bantry and travel to Cork before continuing to our overnight half board accommodation in the Wexford / Waterford area.

Day 7
We travel to Rosslare for the return Ferry sailing to Fishguard/Pembroke and complete the journey home.
