The Italian Government has given the ability for each municipalities in Italy to decide if they wish to introduce a stay tax levied on tourists. This has been implemented sporadically throughout Italy with each municipalities deciding how they collect this. The tax broadly ranges from €1-€5 per person per night and is generally collected from each passenger on arrival. Due to the uncertain nature of collection and the decision being made by the municipalities we are recommending that all passengers are made aware of this on booking to ensure that any tax can be paid on arrival at their hotel if you are asked for it.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.

Full day tour to Pisa & Pietrasanta with local guide. We witness one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the famous leaning tower, which is but one of many architecturally and artistically important structures in the city’s Campo dei Miracoli or field of Miracles to the north of the old town centre. Campo dei Miracoli also hosts the beautiful Duomo (the Cathedral), the Baptister and the Campostanto. This afternoon, we continue to Pietrasanta, a lovely medieval town known for its marble and bronze workshops, artists and monuments. It is named the Little Athens of Italy. Many artists, including Michelangelo visited Pietrasanta to learn skills from local artisans, work with them and to get the best white marble for his famous works of art.
Morning at leisure and lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon enjoy an extensive buffet of local delicacies at a Tuscan country estate. Andrea Bocelli’s concert in the 'Teatro del Silenzio' (Theatre of Silence) provides a fitting finale to a spectacular day. In 2006 the famous Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli initiated an innovative project uniting art, culture and territory by the construction of an open air amphitheatre in the heart of the Tuscan hills near Lajatico, his hometown near Volterra. The theatre hosts a single concert by Bocelli once in summer, while remaining silent the rest of the year (hence the name Teatro del Silenzio - Theatre of Silence). A sculpture in the form of a human face is located in the center of the structure. It was designed by the Polish sculptor Igor Mitoraj for the performance of the opera Manon Lescaut and left to the theatre foundation later. The stage as well as the latforms for the audience are completely dismantled during the time when they are not used and the theatre gets back to its natural silent state turning into an artificial lake.Bocelli’s concert is an extraordinary way to enjoy the beauty of the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by enchanting hills while listening to his music and voice. The return to the hotel will be in the early hours. CATEGORY 6 NON RESERVED SEATED TICKET INCLUDED.Due to the location of the Teatro del Silenzio, all passengers will have a walk of approximately 1000 metres (1km) to reach their seats. The open air concert is due to start at 21.00 hrs and finish around Midnight. (PLEASE WEAR COMFORTABLE FOOTWEAR)
