Well this special 'Taste of Ireland' holiday showcases all of this and much more. Excursion 1
Today we head for Kilkenny, one of Ireland's most cosmopolitan cities and the famous Medieval Mile is where history meets the here and now. Stepping through the centuries, you'll see historic buildings, streets and slipways and Kilkenny Castle with a history dating back 800 years. Enjoy free time but, before we leave we include a visit to the Smithwicks Experience, here we learn about the history of Ireland's oldest ale, brewed since 1710, and stroll through the centuries on our interactive tour followed, of course, by a tasting!
Excursion 2
Today we visit one of Irelands oldest Cities - Waterford, with a rich history dating back to the Vikings, there's plenty to explore. We start our visit with a wonderful 90 minute sail along the River Barrow on board the Barrow Princess, taking in the sights and history as we sail. Once back on land the remainder of the day is free to explore Waterford, in the heart of town there's the Medieval Museum, Viking Quarter and of course Waterford Crystal.
