Plan My Trip

Day One
We head straight to Shrewsbury: one of England’s finest medieval market towns with over 600 listed buildings including many black & white halftimbered Tudor buildings. Sit back and relax on a 40 minute cruise along the River Severn, before exploring this lovely town which was the birthplace of Charles Darwin. We check in to our hotel late afternoon

Day Two
Our first visit this morning is the lovely town of Much Wenlock, a quintessentially English town, off the beaten track and the birthplace of William Penny Brookes, the inspiration for the modern Olympic Movement. From here we travel via Bridgnorth & Bewdley as we head to our next stop the lovely border town of Ludlow, a thriving medieval market town and an architectural gem. The historic town centre and the 11th century Castle are situated on a cliff above the River Teme and are surrounded by the beautiful countryside of south Shropshire and the Welsh Marches.

Day Three
Today we cross the border into Wales and explore the picturesque town of Llangollen with the River Dee running through its heart. We experience the peace and tranquillity of an included horse-drawn canal boat trip along the Llangollen Canal, now part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy Llangollen’s wealth of independent shops and take a stroll along Victoria Promenade, before a nostalgic trip back in time through the Dee Valley on the Llangollen Railway.

Day Four
A morning visit to the Shropshire Hills Discovery centre, is followed by a scenic journey as we head to the lovely Welsh Spa Town of Llandrindod Wells where we enjoy the remainder of the day exploring this delightful town.

Day Five
We make the most of our day today, firstly we pop into Oswestry and its market Day, we then have a wonderful drive over the Horseshoe Pass stopping offto enjoy the views from the Ponderosa Café. We’ll then have an afternoon stop off in Chester before getting back to the North West for 4.30pm
