Our First stop is 15th Century Rosslyn Chapel, a truly compelling & unique building surviving the turbulent times of the Reformation. It is one of the most famous chapel’s in the world surrounded by myths & legends of the “Holy Grail”. Our Afternoon takes us to vibrant Edinburgh with free time to explore this fascinating city dominated by its castle perched high above Princes Street Gardens.
About an hour’s drive away is the Trossachs & Queen Elizabeth National Park, an area recognised as an area of outstanding beauty. We stop off in the main village of Callander and pass through Aberfoyle and Drymen before arriving at the southern shoreline of Loch Lomond, we continue to Luss for our afternoon stop before returning back to our hotel.
Take in some sea air as we stop in Ayr, on our way to nearby Dumfries House, one of Britain’s most beautiful stately homes and best kept heritage secrets, with sumptuous interiors and magnificent furnishings, all set in two thousand acres of land. It is regarded as an 18th century time-capsule since the principal rooms and their contents have remained virtually unchanged for 250 years. You will have exclusive access to a private room within the house to enjoy tea/coffee and shortbread, followed by a privately guided tour of the House.
Our return journey sees us visit Carlisle before returning to the North West for approx. 4.30pm
