This new holiday in 2024 received rave reviews from our customers who loved the hotel and itinerary, so we just had to feature it for the third year running. As one of the most beautiful areas of England, Suffolk retains a quintessential charm making it a delightful holiday destination. Our holiday takes in the lovely Suffolk Coast, Anglo Saxon - Sutton Hoo, a wonderful relaxing sail along the River Deben and a visit to the immaculate Grade 1 listed Gardens at Helmingham Hall.

Excursion 1
Today we explore the Suffolk coast, starting with a visit to Southwold with it's famous painted Beach Huts and lovely pier, before continuing to the pretty village of Thorpeness, with its pretty mock Tudor houses and the fairytale 'House in the Clouds', we take our lunch stop here and enjoy an afternoon visit to Aldeburgh before returning to our hotel.
Excursion 2
We enjoy a guided tour of at the World-famous Anglo-Saxon burial site of Sutton Hoo. A hauntingly beautiful estate which is home to one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time. We discover the story of the ship burial of an Anglo Saxon King, explore the award-winning exhibition and the full-size reconstruction of the burial chamber. In the afternoon we make our way to Waldringfield where we enjoy a 2-hour cruise with tea/coffee & scones along the river Derben, one of the most beautiful and scenic spots on the east coast.
Excursion 3
Enjoy a free morning around the hotel and its lovely position on Ipswich marina. The afternoon we travel to Helmingham Hall Gardens. Set rather spectacularly, surrounded by a sparkling moat and in its own manicured grounds and deer park, the approach is something to behold. We enjoy exploring the immaculate Grade l listed gardens at leisure.
