Excursion 1
Today we explore the Suffolk coast, starting with a visit to Southwold with it's famous painted Beach Huts and lovely pier, before continuing to the pretty village of Thorpeness, with its pretty mock Tudor houses and the fairytale 'House in the Clouds', we take our lunch stop here and enjoy an afternoon visit to Aldeburgh before returning to our hotel.

Excursion 2
We enjoy a guided tour of at the World-famous Anglo-Saxon burial site of Sutton Hoo. A hauntingly beautiful estate which is home to one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time. We discover the story of the ship burial of an Anglo Saxon King, explore the award-winning exhibition and the full-size reconstruction of the burial chamber. In the afternoon we make our way to Waldringfield where we enjoy a 2-hour cruise with tea/coffee & scones along the river Derben, one of the most beautiful and scenic spots on the east coast.

Excursion 3
Enjoy a free morning around the hotel and it's lovely position on Ipswich Marina, this ftaernoon we head off to Helmingham Hall Gardens. The Tollemache family have resided at Helmingham for many hundreds of years. The Hall and the old oak trees that you see today have seen much of the history of England pass before them, along with many generations of this family. The Hall is not open to visitors but the gardens are a pure delight to explore. A classic parterre flanked by hybrid musk roses lies before a stunning walled kitchen garden with exquisite herbaceous borders and beds of vegetables interspersed by tunnels of sweet peas, runner beans and gourds. On the other side lies a herb and knot garden behind which is a rose garden of unsurpassable beauty.
