Rhine Cruise, The Glacier Express & Alsace

Day One
Late morning / lunchtime HOME PICK UPS and we then make our way to Hull for the overnight sailing to Rotterdam.On board enjoy the many amenities offered and we have included lower berth inside cabins for your comfort. Outside cabins are available on request at a supplement, evening meal can be added for a supplelemt which gives you access to the fabulous World Buffet

Day Two
Breakfast is included on board and we then disembark and begin our journey to Strasbourg where we spend the evening at the 4* Hannong Hotel in the heart of the City, this gives you opportunity to head out and get dinner and your bearings.

Day Three
Today we have free time to explore Strasbourg, wander Pettit France district - the most picturesque district of old Strasbourg. Fishermen, millers and tanners once lived and worked in this part of town where the streets have been built level with the waterways.The magnificent half-timbered houses date from the 16th and 17th centuries. And do not miss the spectacluar Cathedral with Victor Hugo described as "A prodigy of the gigantesque and the delicate," Late afternoon we board the MS La Boheme for our 4 Night cruise along the Rhine. Once on board all meals are included along with a selection of drinks too.This evening we set sail for Breisach

Day Four
We’ll arrive in Breisach in the early morning and we've an included excursion with a guided tour of Colmar for you. Colmar is a colorful city bursting with Alsatian charm. You'll discover the picturesque district known as "Little Venice,"with its romantic canals and cobblestone streets; the majestic, Gothic-style Saint Martin’s Church; and the remarkable Maison des Têtes, built at the beginning of the 17th century—named as such for the 111 heads decorating the outside. Back on board ship wespend the afternoon cruising to Basel and enjoy an evening of dancing.

Day Five
One of the many highlights today as we head for the The most famous train in the world and it's a scenic coach journey to get there. Our Railway journey starts in Andermatt aboard the Glacier Express to take you on a panoramic trip through the Alps to Chur. For much of its journey, the train travels on a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the Rhaetian Railway, taking you to the most jaw-dropping places in the heart of Switzerland. With unspoiled mountains rising majestically towards the sky, you'll discover the breathtakingly beautiful and idyllic scenery that only this unique and unforgettable route can offer. This excursion alone is a picture postcard of Switzerland. We'll have lunch at a local restaurant or on the train, (depending on availability). Once we arrive into Chur our coach is waiting to take you back to Basel again by the magnificent Swiss Scenery and lovely Lake Lucerne.

Day Six
After a busy couple of days we spend today cruising and relaxing on board our ship and taking in the scenery as we go.

Day Seven
We arrive back into Strasbourg and disembark this morning after breakfast. We then make our way through France to our final nights stay in the Lille area of Northern France

Day Eight
Departing after breakfast we make the short journey for our ferry back to Dover and then onward back to the North West for approximately 7.30pm

Other Information

Our cruise is operated by Croisi Europe and we sail on the Ship MS La Boheme, with meals & drinks included. All Cabins feature en-suite shower & toilet, TV & air conditioning, main deck cabins offer large picture windows and upperdeck cabins have additional high opening windows. The restaurant and bar are situated on the upperdeck and the sundeck offers comfortable sun loungers with a large shaded area and is the ideal place to relax and admire the surrounding landscapes as you sail by.
