We set sail early this morning, passing Remagen, famous as the site of a World War II battle for the town’s bridge. We then continue towards the pretty town of Andernach, one of the oldest towns in Germany, which is renowned for its impressive 13th century “Liebfrauen” church. After lunch, we will have time to explore this historic town and its attractions before heading back to our ship in time for dinner
Today, we cruise along the picturesque Moselle river, fabulously set in the heart of the Moselle valley wine-growing region. By lunchtime, we will reach the enchanting medieval town of Cochem, overlooked by the colossal 11th century Reichsburg Castle, perched high on a hill above the town and one of the most beautiful castles in the region. After lunch, we will disembark and spend time in this beautiful town, with its baroque styled architecture and spectacular scenery, nestled in the most romantic part of the Moselle Valley.
This morning, we sail back along the Moselle and join the Rhine once more, passing some of the region’s most spectacular landscapes on the way. We arrive late afternoon into the charming town of Boppard where we will have some free time to explore this ancient town before dinner.
This morning, we cruise to Rüdesheim and marvel en route at some of the Rhine Valley’s most famous landmarks including the 130m high Lorelei Rock, named after the Rhine water siren, the legend of whom is as old as time itself, and the Mäuseturm, an ancient customs post now used as a beacon tower for shipping. We have the afternoon free to explore idyllic Rüdesheim, located at the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley. This picture-book town has a long tradition of wine growing and the town is renowned for its Riesling and Pinot Noir wines. Overlooked by the towers of the ruined Ehrenfels Castle, a stroll along the charming paved Drosselgasse is a must. This famous 144m long lane is lined with traditional taverns, cafés and intimate courtyards where there is live music and dancing every day
Where the Rivers meet - our sail takes us to Koblenz today. Take the spectacular cable car over the Rhine, visit The Deutsches Eck with its Kaiser, the Electoral Palace, explore the riverside promenades or visit Stolzenfels Castle. The choice is yours

In the early afternoon we leave the town and cruise past the city of Bonn en route back to the city of Cologne for our last overnight stay. Arriving mid-afternoon, we can enjoy our last afternoon discovering historic Cologne, one of Germany’s largest and liveliest cities, its river skyline dwarfed by the soaring twin steeples of its spectacular gothic cathedral, before returning to our ship for a farewell dinner with the Captain.
We bid Auf Wiedersehen to the Christina and to Germany as we travel to Rotterdam for our overnight sail back to Hull - making the most of our day we visit the lovely Dutch town of Valkenburg en-route
