Plan My Trip

Excursion 1
Today we head for the Valleys for a day of cheese and Welsh charm. Established in 2006 the Blaenavon Cheddar Company is the only company in the world to produce cheddar 30ft below the ground in an ex coal mine. On arrival we enjoy tea and Welsh cakes before hearing the story of the cheese production before a delicious tasting followed by a three course taste of Wales lunch in the Lion Hotel

Excursion 2
The Rhondda Valley was another famous coal mining hub and it's home to the famous heritage centre that tells the story of Wales' most famous export. A tour has been arranged along with entry to the interactive exhibition. No longer producing coal, the centre has its very own chocolate house. Enjoy sampling the produce and discover the origins of chocolate as part of a 40 minute guided tasting session

Excursion 3
Wales doesn't just produce mouth-watering food, it makes a not too bad gin too. Hensol Castle is South Wales' first full scale gin distillery and visitor experience. A tour will treat you to tales of the castle, origins of gin and of course the all-important tasting. Afterwards we take the coastal route back to Cardiff passing through Barry Island, famed for Gavin and Stacey and Penarth with its vintage pier. Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea in a local hotel before exploring the city's Victoria arcades bustling with character and Welsh charm
