Matlock Bath & Heights Of Abraham Cable Car
A lovely excursion with a stuning scenery a plenty. We head through the scenery of the Peak District, enjoying free time in lovely Matlock Bath, the town developed as one of the country's first tourist destinations and is sometimes referred to as 'the seaside town without the sea'. Known for its colourful buildings set alongside the River Derwent, it's been a popular tourist destination since the late 17th century when spa waters were discovered here. Its' heyday was in Victorian, times when it became known as "Little Switzerland" by the poet, Lord Byron. Early afternoon we head for our 'flight' on the fabulous Heights of Abraham Cable Car which takes us to a wonderful 60 acre hilltop park, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside, you'll find a resturant, gift shops, ice cream and caverns and countryside walks to enjoy a real out of this world experience in the lovely Peak District.
