This special holiday explores the very best of Mid Wales, from the coast at Aberystwyth, to the serenity of the Brecon Beacons, all whilst based in the lovely spa town of Llandrindod Wells. Highlights will surely be the Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway & a wonderful canal sail on the Brecon Canal.

Day One
Late morning home pickups as we travel to mid Wales and our hotel in Llandrindod Wells.

Day Two
Today we pop to the Elan Valley Visitor Centre to enjoy an Estate Tour guided by your very own Ranger. The main function of the Elan Estate is to collect and provide a clean water supply to areas of Wales and the city of Birmingham. This means the whole area is managed in an environmentally-friendly way in order to protect to water quality and offers natural beauty as far as the eye can see, We return to Llandrindod Wells to enjoy a free afternoon in the town.

Day Three
Today we travel through the mountains, heading for the coast and the seaside resort of Aberystwyth, stunningly situated on Cardigan Bay. Colourful Victorian and Edwardian terraces line the seafront and the 2km promenade is always buzzing with locals and tourists alike. We'll enjoy free time before boarding the early afternoon steam train on the Vale of Rheidol Railway travelling 12 miles to the beauty spot of Devil's Bridge. See the countryside change as you travel through wide open fields and meadows, woodland and rugged mountain scenery. The narrow track gauge allows the railway to follow the contours of the terrain with many sharp curves and steep gradients which add to the railway's charm.

Day Four
To the mountains today, we'll have a short stop in Builth Wells before continuing to the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal to Spend a delightful few hours cruising through some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain, lying within the Brecon Beacons National Park. We'll have free time in Brecon before returning to our hotel

Day Five
Returning home today we'll enjoy a stop off in lovely Llangollen before returning back to North West early afternoon.

The Metropole is elegant and historic and privately run, the current owner is the great great Gransdson of the original Victorian owner. The large restaurant with conservatory offers delicious menu choices and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The traditionally styled bedrooms offer TV, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryer. A lift serves all floors and leisure facilities include indoor pool, spa bath and steam room.
