Excursion 1 We've a stunning drive today as we head through Snowdonia to Wales West Coast. Travelling through the Vale of Conwy, passing through Betws-y-coed and Blaenau Ffestiniog and heading down to sea level at the fabulous village of Portmeirion. This purpose built Italianate village, was created by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1976 to show how a naturally beautiful site could be developed without spoiling it. It boasts a beautiful setting on the estuary, with lovely walks and nooks and crannies to explore along with beautiful gardens, independent and specialist shops and places to eat and drink and is famous as being the setting for the 1960's TV show The Prisoner. We'll pop in at Betws-y-Coed on our return to the hotel.

Excursion 2 Heading to the Menai Strait today and the imposing town of Caernarfon, with it's stunning Castle looking out across the water and a lovely town to explore with independent shops and waterfront walks.
