Lying at the southern end of Sandown Bay, you'll find the contrasting resort of Shanklin. At the foot of the spectacular cliffs is a long, safe sandy beach and promenade. At the top of the cliffs is the picturesque old town with narrow streets, thatched cottages, tea rooms and the famous Crab Inn. The Old Town and promenade are linked by a cliff lift, or a stunning cliff walk for the more energetic. Shanklin is one of the more intimate holiday resorts on the Island, but still offers it's own theatre, lively pubs and entertainment. You may also like to sample the amazing cliff walk to neighbouring Sandown.
