High Lea Gc, Peak District Inc. Bakewell & Eyam
Our day starts with a morning stop off at High Lea Garden Centre before we head into the stunning Peak District to enjoy the scenery before enjoying a stop off in the lovely Market Town of Bakewell, this afternoon we visit the historic village of Eyam - this idyllic village has a very significant past, which will resonate more now than ever the it's visitors. When the Plague came to the village in 1665 via a piece of cloth sent from London the villagers took it upon themselves (no Boris telling them what them do) to Quarantine to avoid spreading the Plague to nearby Sheffield City - the village Museum and Church are great places to see and hear about this sacrifice. You may have seen the village featured on Joanna's Lumleys recent programme touring the UK.
