We are delighted to offer you the chance to visit TV's Downton Abbey with Entrance to the Castle and Gardens Included, see this stunning house that captured the imagination of the writers of this now World Famous TV show. In real life Downton is Highclere Castle, one of England's most beautiful Victorian Castles. It has been home to the Carnarvon Family since 1679 and sits amid 1000 acres of spectacular parkland. In 1922 the 5th Earl of Carnarvon, and his colleague Howard Carter famously discovered the Tomb of the Egyptian Boy Pharaoh, Tutankhamun, today, the 8th Earl and Countess have opened an Egyptian Exhibition throughout the cellars to celebrate the 5th Earl's achievement. Day One
To Oxford today with free time to explore this delighful city - The City of Dreaming Spires. Explore the historic streets and see the amazing architecture in this University City on the banks of the Thames before heading to hotel.
Day Two
Off to splendid Windsor today for free time to enjoy the many delights of this spectacular royal town. Browse the shops, enjoy lunch in one of the tearooms or pubs, take a walk or sail along the river or why not take a tour of the magnificent castle. There is plenty to keep you occupied.
Day Three
It's the highlight of our weekend today as we head to stunning Highclere Castle for our morning visit. We have included entrance to the spectacular House - which you will of course recognsie as Downton Abbey, you will also get the opportunity to wander the stunning gardens and explore the fascinating Egyptian Exhibition. We return to the North West for approximately 7pm, giving you time to purchase lunch at Highclere's lovely tea rooms
