It's Joan & David holiday time again, and since their truly enjoyable River Cruise in Germany we have been planning a Danube cruise - and here it is. Made even more special with a brand new 4*Ship and heading to the lovely Rhine too..

Day One
Early morning home pick ups and travel to Dover for the lunchtime ferry to Calais. We then continue to our overnight stay at the Altia Hotel in Lille . Dinner included

Day Two
As it’s the 75th Anniversary of VE Day this year we will take the opportunity to visit the very moving Tyne Cot Cemetery, which is not too far from Lille. With nearly 12,000 buried soldiers, this memorial is the largest Commonwealth cemetery in the world, for any war, a sad claim to fame. Dizzying rows of white gravestones line the grass, overlooking sweeping views of the bucolic countryside. The site’s surrounding wall is a memorial to the missing, bearing the name of nearly 35,000 men from the UK that were never found and presumed dead. We continue then to Boppard on the shores of the mighty river Rhine to check in to the Ebertor Hotel for 2 nights

Day Three
Enjoy a free day around lovely Boppard, explore this lovely Riverside town or maybe get your river legs ready and take a sail

Day Four
Leaving Boppard today we head to Passau where we embark the wonderful MS Arena late afternoon. Settle in and enjoy our first evening on board as we sail overnight to Melk

Day Five
This morning we arrive in Melk, with it’s famous Abbey standing high and proud looking over the River and the Wachau Valley. This afternoon enjoy lunch as we sail the Danube heading for Vienna where we arrive around 7pm and spend the evening docked in the City.

Day Six
Spend the day at leisure in Vienna, Austria’s stunning Capital steeped in history with stunning Architecture and relaxed atmosphere. Early evening we depart Vienna for our overnight sailing to Budapest

Day Seven
We arrive into the Hungarian Capital late morning and you’ll have the full day, evening and following morning to explore the amazing City of Budapest

Day Eight
Enjoy the morning in Budapest before we set sail at lunchtime, spend the afternoon on deck taking in the beautiful scenery of the Danube as we sail into the night and overnight

Day Nine
Another day another wonderful capital city - we arrive into Bratislava early this morning and spend the full day exploring the Slovakian Capital, setting sail this evening around 6pm

Day Ten
We’ll have a morning visit to Durnstein today, a famous wine growing area on the banks of the Danube. This afternoon enjoy you last day of sailing as we head back to Passau sailingOvernight.

Day Eleven
Arriving back into Passau this morning, we’ll re-join our coach and head back to the wonderful River Rhine, we stay further north this evening at the Maxx Hotel in Bad Honnef which is close to Konigswinter, where Joan went when she was at school!!!

Day Twelve
Continuing our journey homeward we enjoy our lunchstop in the pretty Dutch town of Valkenburg, before continuing to Rotterdam for our overnight sailing back to Hull. For your comfort we have included inside lower berth cabins for everyone, should you wish to upgrade to an Outside cabin please advise our reservations team who can advise availability and supplements. Dinner and breakfast are included onboard

Day Thirteen
Arriving back into Hull we enjoy breakfast then disembark and head back home arriving back around lunch time
