Cornwall's Eden Project & Britain's Ocean City
Enoy a fabulous short break staying int the heart of England's Ocean City - Plymouth, you'll be spoilt for choice on what to experience. Why not head down to historic Sutton Harbour setting off The Barbican to watch the comings and goings of boats. Wander the ancient cobbled street - little changed from Elizabethan times - and browse the shops and galleries. Check out the Mayflower Museum and see the Mayflower Steps where in 1620 the Pilgrims embarked on the Mayflower voyage to the Americas, or make your way to the stunning Plymouth Hoe, the city's waterfront park. The Hoe is the heart of the city an offers breathtaking panoramic views across Plymouth Sound. The gardens are home to the iconic Smeaton's Tower Lighthouse and the Royal Citadel, home to the Royal Artillery - both open to the public - as well as the city's war memorials and the famous green where Sir Francis Drake played bowls awaiting news of the Spanish Armada. Our weekend break also takes us to Cornwall's amazing Eden Project - this former clay mine with no soil or plants has been transformed into a beautiful global garden, which sets the stage for an extraordinary day out where you'll rediscover the natural world as you've never experienced it before.
