Carlisle - Settle Railway & The Lake District
Enjoy a magnificent weekend break combining the stunning scenery of the beautiful Lake District with a journey on the Settle - Carlisle Railway which is without doubt one of Britain's most spectacular Railway Lines. The 72 mile journey passes Yorkshire's famous Three Peaks and travels over a 24 span viaduct with hardly a dull moment on board much of the scenery cannot be seen by other modes of transport.

Day One
To the Lake District and our first stop in lovely Bowness on Windermere - England's largest Lake. Enjoy free time and then, from here you have a choice, carry on with the coach or see your driver to arrange a sail up the lake to Ambleside, re-join the coach here then head to our next stop pretty Grasmere, famous of course for William Wordsworth and also delicious Gingerbread. We then have a spectacular drive to our hotel passing Thirlmere then joining the scenic A66.
Day Two
After breakfast we make our way into Carlisle to enjoy free time in Englands most Northerly City. From here we board the early afternoon Train which takes us throughto Settle, enjoying the breathtaking sceneryas you travel the 72 miles through unspoilt countryside. On arrival in Settle you will be met by your coach, and we then return back to the North West for approximately 6pm.
