We enjoy a lovey five-day holiday to South Wales based around the popular Capital - Cardiff and the lovely scenery of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. We'll head into the Valleys and visit the Rhondda Heritage Park, enjoy a tour of the fabulous Royal Mint and visit the fascinating National Museum of Wales at St Fagans, where over forty original buildings from different historical periods have been re-erected in the 100-acre parkland, among them houses, a farm, a school, a chapel and a splendid Workmen's Institute.

Excursion 1
Al lovely scenic trip today starts with a journey along the beautiful Wye Valley to historic Monmouth for a short break. From here we head for Symonds Yat where we enjoy a lovely relaxing Sail along the River Wye. We then continue to our Lunch break in Ross-on-Wye and we return through the Forest of Dean to Chepstow, our final stop of the day.

Excursion 2
This morning we visit the Royal Mint which puts 1000 years of history into combining the finest craftsmanship with modern techniques to make coins and medals for over 60 countries. See how the coins in your purse or wallet are made. Following our fascinating visit, we head into the Welsh Valley's and to the Rhondda Valley, home of world-renowned male voice choirs, brass bands and a proud coal-mining heritage. It is also a place of natural beauty with forests and hillsides overlooking the valley communities of terraced housing that in places cling precipitously to the hillside. We visit the Heritage Park and Welsh Mining Museum to hear about life in the Mines from an ex-Miner and enjoy the exhibitions.

Excursion 3
Our day starts with a visit the National Museum of Wales, the museum stands in the grounds of the magnificent St Fagans Castle and gardens, a late 16th-century manor house donated to the people of Wales by the Earl of Plymouth in 1948. Following time here we head into the fabulous City Centre to spend the afternoon at leisure.

The Mercure Cardiff North was completely renovated in 2019 and provides an excellent location for exploring South Wales, located just 5 miles from Cardiff city centre. Hotel facilities include an excellent standard of accommodation. All bedrooms are ensuite and have television, telephone, hairdryer and walk-in showers with small step. The hotel has a lift.
