Excursion 1
Today we discover idyllic villages on a guided tour of Constable Country. We'll visit the birthplace of the famous painter at East Bergholt - an unspoilt village with many fine old houses and cottages. We also see the church at Dedham, with its 131ft tower, and the little hamlet of Flatford Mill - both favoured landscapes for his paintings, with one of his works being named after the mill. From here we head towards Felixstowe where we spend the afternoon - perhaps enjoy some fish and chips at the seaside!
Excursion 2
This morning we are off to the famous university city of Cambridge. The city has many fascinating attractions, not least of which are the many colleges. We first meet our guide for a tour of Cambridge ending with a visit to the American Cemetery. Following our tour enjoy free time to explore at your own pace. Maybe have a punt along the river and obtain lunch before we leave.
Excursion 3
Wednesday is Market day in the historic town of Bury St. Edmunds, held in the Buttermarket and Cornhill, dating back to before the days of William the Conqueror. The town is also famous for its Abbey Gardens and the Angel Hotel, where Dickens had Mrs Pickwick stay.
