Excursion 1
We enjoy a lovely drive through the New Forest, a place where ponies, cattle, donkeys & deer roam free and thrive. It's not really new, it was created as a Royal hunting ground by William the Conqueror in 1079 and has a fascinating history. We're heading to Beaulieu, this estate has been in the hands of the Montagu family for over 800 years and now a fabulous tourist attraction. Here you'll find the National Motor Museum, home to over 280 vehicles from the earliest motor carriages to legendary F1 vehicles, family saloons and so much more. Palace house, once the gatehouse to the medieval abbey, has been home to the Montagu Family since 1538. The Abbey Ruins have been carefully conserved and the serene grounds and gardens are a delight to enjoy either on-foot or by the onsite monorail or veteran open top bus. Our return to Bournemouth takes in more New Forest scenery and we pop in to delightful Christchurch for a short afternoon visit.
Excursion 2
A morning visit to nearby Poole is followed by a wonderful Steam Train journey, we join the Swanage Steam Railway at Norden for a journey passing Corfe Castle towards the lovely Victorian town of Swanage where we disembark and spend the reminder of the afternoon at leisure before returning to Bournemouth by coach.
