We travel to our hotel
Today we visit the Longleat Estate. We’ll start with a visit to the spectacular House and Gardens. Wander through the sweeping corridors and grand rooms to be transported back in time and explore this stunning example of high Elizabethan architecture – and the Capability Brown landscaped grounds surrounding it. There’ll be free time to purchase lunch and late afternoon we meet our coach again and enjoy an exciting drive through the Safari Park to see the many animals and those famous Longleat Lions before we head back to our hotel.
We pop into nearby Bath today to spend the day at leisure. Bath's stunning honey-coloured Georgian architecture is straight from a Jane Austen novel - highlights include the iconic Royal Crescent and the majestic Circus, visit the stunning Abbey, the ancient Roman Baths, plus the compact, visitor-friendly centre is overflowing with places to eat and drink, plus some of the finest independent shops in Britain
Into Wiltshire today our first stop is the historic market town of Devizes, and today is Market Day. Browse the stalls in the heart of the historic town which has a medieval past and offers over 500 listed buildings. We then journey over the Salisbury Plain and head for our afternoon visit to Stonehenge – the best known pre-historic monument in Europe. Explore the ancient landscape on foot and step inside the Neolithic Houses to discover the tools and objects of everyday Neolithic life. Visit the world-class exhibition and visitor centre with 250 ancient objects and come face to face with a 5,500 year-old man.
We enjoy a drive through the southern Cotswolds and spend our lunch stop in Cheltenham before joining the motorway for the final leg of our journey home.
