A Wonderful Weekend Of Welsh Mountain Railways
North Wales, home to the mighty Snowdonia National Park and Historic Railways that pass through it and also all the way to the top of it. We are delighted to offer this wonderful weekend break which includes two fabulous Mountain Railways, we head to the Summit of Mount Snowdon - Yr Wyddfa on the Snowdon Mountain Railway and pass through the Snowdonia National Park on the Welsh Highland Railway travelling all the way from our base in Caernarfon to Porthmadog enjoying spectacular scenery with every chug.

Day One
We enjoy some free time in Conwy before checking in to our hotel in Caernarfon
Day Two
The first of our Mountain Railways, we travel to Llanberis to join the Snowdon Mountain Railway taking us right to the summit. As the train travels up the mountain, you'll experience awe-inspiring views and uncover the mountain's hidden secrets, from viaducts, waterfalls and gorges to the remnants of abandoned farms, chapels and medieval settlements. At the top, along with a lot of tired trekkers, you'll find the Summit Visitor Centre complete with café, you'll have approximately 30 minutes to admire the views before descending back down the mountain. We then re-join our coach and enjoy a scenic drive and afternoon visit to Betws-y-Coed.
Day Three
Another day, another wonderful train journey, today we travel by steam on the Welsh Highland Railway- the UK's longest heritage railway running for 25 miles. Set off from Caernarfon, pass the foot of Snowdon and the picture postcard village of Beddgelert, then through the stunning Aberglaslyn Pass and on to Porthmadog. Passengers ride in some of the most comfortable carriages on any heritage railway in the UK. Enjoy some free time in Porthmadog before returning back to Caernarfon by road.
Day Four
We drop into popular Llandudno before returning back to the North West for approx. 4.30pm
