INCLUDED EXCURSION
Sheringham, North Norfolk's Poppy Line & Wroxham Barns (July 2025 only)
Sheringham is a rare example of a seaside town hardly changed from a century ago yet thriving still on a potent mixture of Norfolk charm. An award winning beach, steam railway and locally run shops make a stop here a must. From the smart Victorian seaside resort of Sheringham travel on a lovingly restored steam or heritage diesel train to the Georgian town of Holt. The North Norfolk Railway runs through the county's most stunning coastal scenery. Fare included.
On the return journey a stop at Wroxham Barns is a must - Norfolk's award-winning visitor attraction set in the stunning countryside close to the Norfolk Broads. There's so much to see and so much to do. The perfect chance to indulge in some retail therapy. See the talented craftspeople and chat to them while they work, or browse the shops which offer everything from unique gifts and stylish clothes to fun toys and delicious foods.
Norwich (November 2025 only)
Spend the day in Norwich with its wonderful fusion of the modern and historic, one complementing the other. Like any great city its centre is easy to walk around and has a river at its heart. As well as being the most complete medieval city in the UK, it has a flourishing arts, music and cultural scene, superb independent as well as High Street shopping, lively restaurants, bars and a heritage that is a delight to explore. It was also England's first UNESCO City of Literature – this is a city of stories!
OPTIONAL EXCURSION
Aldburgh & Southwold (All Tours)
Head to Aldburgh today for a visit to this neat little seaside resort and shingle beach. Aldeburgh is a pretty coastal town on the river Alde and enjoys breathtaking views both seawards and following the river Alde inland towards Orford. Its name comes from 'Alde Burgh' meaning "old fort" and the town's history is closely linked to the changes time and Mother Nature have wrought to the coastal map. Today Aldeburgh is famous for many things - good food, great fish & chips, Aldeburgh Music, Maggi Hamblings' Scallop on the beach, as well as a vibrant art and music scene. There are several Art Galleries in the town including one from Caroline Wiseman based in the iconic South Lookout.
On to Southwold, where the town offers much of interest, but it is the sea and Southwold's links with it that make this a wonderful destination at any time of the year. Come and sample the Southwold sea air! All the attractions of the working lighthouse, beach huts, award-winning pier, Adnams Brewery, busy harbour, cliff top cannon and of course the beach, combine to make Southwold a quintessentially English resort town.
Return Day - After breakfast your homeward journey commences and with ample refreshment stops on the way you will arrive back in your local towns mid evening.
*Please note:
2025 tours will have a shared coach with guests staying at the nearby Warners Corton Coastal Village.
All UK interchanges take place at either South Mimms Services (M25) or Beaconsfield Services (M40). Passengers joining from Kent, Essex etc will travel west to the interchange before heading east to Gunton Hall.
