Situated on the banks of the River Weaver, Nantwich is famous for its medieval timbered buildings dotted around the town. Stroll through the atmospheric streets and visit the bijoux boutiques, antiques dealers and contemporary craft shops. The Saturday market takes place on the town's square where you can find fresh produce and household goods. Re-join the coach for the short journey to Dagfields to maybe bag a bargain. Dagfields is the largest Crafts & Antiques Centre in the Northwest with 7 giant vintage emporiums and 50,000 sq ft of antiques and collectables with over 300 dealers on site. The shopping village consists of 25 unique, independent shops and the tea room and restaurant serve delicious home made food. Return to Alvaston Hall later this afternoon.

Charming Chester
Bewitching beauty and unique atmosphere make Chester one of Britain's most attractive cities. The ancient city is a truly breathtaking experience. Each chapter of Chester's history is etched into the very fabric of the city as you walk where Roman Legionnaires marched to war, Viking raiders wreaked havoc and Norman invaders conquered Anglo Saxons. Chester has the most complete city walls, the oldest racecourse and the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, plus a 1000 year old Cathedral with Europe's finest example of medieval carvings - and of course the one and only 700-year-old Rows galleries where shopping is a double delight.

Day 4 - Enjoy a hearty breakfast this morning before boarding the coach to head back to your local area via interchange.

Accommodation

Alvaston Hall Hotel, Nr Nantwich

Alvaston Hall is a Victorian country house located in a peaceful setting surrounded by the gentle hills of the Cheshire countryside. It enjoys a fascinating blend of architectural styles, and quirky lack of symmetry, dating back to 1896, when Manchester industrialist Arthur Knowles commissioned the half-timber framing, eye-catching clock tower and gargoyles above the porch.

The impressive reception hall showcases a beautiful stained-glass window and large fireplace with ornate Italian ironwork.

The scenic grounds are beautifully landscaped with rolling lawns, vibrant blooms and impressive water features.

Most guestrooms are located in modern accommodation wings and enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, tea / coffee-making facilities, hairdryer, iron / ironing board and in-room safe.

There are several dining and bar outlets including the Market Kitchen, the Cheshire Barn and the Coffee Nest.

There is a spa with indoor heated pool, sauna and steam plus a variety of activities from yoga, aqua aerobics, talks, quizzes, shuffleboard. Some activities such as archery, rifle shooting and gin / wine tasting incur an additional charge. There is a lift
