It may face the English channel, rather than the Med, but the coast around Torquay has long been dubbed the English riviera - famous for palm trees, piers and russet-red cliffs. At first glance, Torquay itself is the quintessential English seaside resort, a mild microclimate and an azure circle of bay.

Along the famous Devon coastline to Brixham. This resort is primarily a fishing port within Torbay and has a long and rich history. In the lee of Berry Head, famous for its Napoleonic connections, its lighthouse and magnificent limestone cliffs, Brixham remains a popular resort with a rich maritime history and plenty of activities for the young and old alike. Then onto Dartmouth, another beautiful and well-preserved old port. As an area of outstanding natural beauty in South Devon, Dartmouth is truly beautiful and the River Dart provides many photographic delights, as does the town itself. Returning to Torquay via the resort of Paignton.

Dawlish & Teignmouth - All Tours
Head off to the traditional Devon seaside town of Dawlish with its wonderfully long golden sandy beach. The town has plenty of interesting shops and a great range of places to eat and drink. The brook that runs through the centre of a wide-open green, The Lawn, is home to the famous black swans which have been residents in Dawlish since at least the early 1900s. Onto Teignmouth, a stunning coastal town with historic Georgian buildings, a lovely high street and long sandy beaches. The Town Beach is home to the Victorian pier, arcades and promenade whilst the River Beach is full of charming fishing boats and a has a wonderful quaint village feel.

Buckfast Abbey & the House of Marbles (7 day only)
Experience serenity and an inspirational day out at Buckfast Abbey. Nestled in a valley on the edge of Dartmoor, the Abbey is home to a working community of Benedictine monks and is one of the top tourist attractions in the Westcountry. This jewel in Devon's crown boasts a fascinating history: Founded by King Canute in 1018, Buckfast Abbey was at the heart of the community until Catholic monasteries were dissolved by King Henry VIII.

A fun visit follows - the popular House of Marbles! Makers & purveyors of a world famous range of glass marbles, board games, classic toys, puzzles, pastimes & decorative accessories for the home and garden. They have been designing, making and selling fun and entertaining products since 1973, when the founder began making board games in his workshops to sell at local craft fairs.
