Saundersfoot & Carmarthen
Saundersfoot is a fishing village located in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and is one of the most popular seaside resorts in the UK. Located at the foot of a picturesque wooded valley Saundersfoot has everything to offer from sandy beaches, watersports, fishing trips, shops, restaurants, and a coastal path.
Carmarthen is the oldest continually occupied town in Wales, proud of its Roman origins as well as its links with the Arthurian legends of Merlin. The wizard is said by some to have been born here, and on a visit to Carmarthenshire County Museum you can see the last piece of Merlin’s Oak. Don’t take it away though - legend has it that if it’s removed, the town will fall! The free museum is packed with plenty more treasures including mammoth bones, Roman gold and Egyptian artefacts.
Cardigan, Cardigan Bay & Haverfordwest
The market town of Cardigan is an essential stop on your way to Cardigan Bay. The slow pace of change in this part of Wales has helped preserve the 19th century character and charm of this ancient town. Narrow streets, traditional shops, inns and eating places many with their original Georgian and Victorian fronts help create a unique visitor experience.
Continue to Haverfordwest with its Riverside Quay, the main focus of activity. There will be a stop at the huge out of town centre, Vincent Davies, West Wales' best known department store, where you can find everything from soft furnishings to kitchenware, gifts to clothing, as well as an excellent cafe.
St David's & Picton Castle (7 Days Only)
Picton Castle & Gardens has been awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for five years running. Situated within the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, it comprises 40 acres of the most beautiful woodland gardens and grounds in West Wales. Wild flowers blended with unusual woodland shrubs from all over the world, the Walled Garden and Fernery and the Jungle Garden, make this one not to be missed. The Secret Owl Garden is home to the largest collection of owls in Wales. Hidden away in the beautiful Blue Bell Walk are specially designed aviaries for 25 different species of owls that you can visit during your time there e. Throughout the day each owl is given the opportunity to fly free around the garden, meaning you can get up close and watch them glide over the flowers and through the trees.
St Davids Cathedral, nestling almost hidden in a grassy hollow beneath the tiny city, adds to the very special atmosphere that most visitors feel when they visit. St Davids today is a very attractive place with narrow streets filled with cafes, restaurants, hotels and art galleries - but only one pub! The 13th century Tower Gate and the Celtic Old Cross are also well worth a look.
