Please note that this holiday involves a medium amount of easy walking and you should come prepared with comfortable, sturdy shoes.

DAY 1 - After joining your holiday coach, you will travel to Dover for the short sea crossing to Calais. Continue onto your overnight stay in Germany. BB
DAY 2 - Today you will continue on your journey to Spiegelau, on the edge of the Bavarian National Park for your 5-night stay at the Landhotel Tannenhof. DBB
DAY 3 - 6 - You will have four full days to explore this beautiful region with three included excursions. You will have a free day in Spiegelau to explore. It is well-known as a glass making town and you may like to visit the Factory Outlet, the top address for lovers of fine crystal glasses and decanters. Nearby is the Penninger Schnapps Distillery where you can learn about the history of Schnapps production and try a sample. Please note that the hotel is on a steep hill with a downhill walk of approx. 1.5km to town (and of course, uphill on the way back!). The hotel reception can order a local taxi but requires at least one day’s notice
Michlbauerhof with lunch & Bavarian Tree Top Walk
Head to Michlbauer Hof for a horse-drawn carriage ride through the glorious Bavarian countryside before enjoying a relaxed, traditional farmhouse-style light lunch. Then drive to Neuschönau to the incredible tree-top walk where, fully accessible (lift available) and escorted by a guide, you will walk amongst the tree tops on an elevated (step free) pathway at between 8m and 25m above the forest floor. Untouched nature, breathtaking views and boundless forest wilderness await. A truly unique and invigorating experience!
Baroque Passau, the Three Rivers City
A leisurely day to explore the atmospheric city of Passau on the confluence of the Danube, the Inn and the Ilz, with its charming old town full of romantic lanes, picturesque squares, baroque architecture and the magnificent St Steven's Cathedral home to the world's largest church organ. An included guided walking tour of the Old Town shows you the sights before joining a relaxing 45-minute ‘Three Rivers’ sightseeing boat trip
Captivating Cesky Krumlov
Cross the border today into the Czech Republic for an included day in charming UNESCO world heritage Cesky Krumlov, located on the Vltava River and famed for its magnificent 13th century castle. It is a fine example of a beautifully preserved central European medieval town and features many Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque elements. Your driver may be able to offer you an optional guided walking tour of the city centre
DAY 7 - Today you depart the Bavaria Forest, heading back across Germany for your final overnight stop near Saarbruecken BB
DAY 8 - After an early breakfast, it's Auf Wiedersehen as you travel back through France to Calais for the return crossing to England.Back to top
AccommodationLANDHOTEL TANNENHOF, SPIEGELAU
The traditional Bavarian Landhotel Tannenhof enjoys a peaceful location on a hill on the outskirts of Spiegelau in the Bavarian Forest National Park. The comfortable, spacious guestrooms are modern and bright and come equipped with shower and WC, hairdryer, satellite TV and balcony or terrace. Twin / double rooms are continental twins (two mattresses on one bedframe). There is a wellness area with pool, sauna and plunge pool. Residents have use of Finnish sauna, the Bavarian Forest herbal salt sauna and the infrared heat cabins (check with reception). There is a panoramic restaurant with sun terrace plus a bar and beer garden. Please note that there is no lift but there are some ground floor rooms. There is a steep walk down into the town centre (approx. 1.5km). Taxis are bookable from reception but a day's notice is required.
